The company also has day nurseries at the Berlin and Hamburg offices with a total of more than 90 places. The “Wolkenzwerge” nursery in the immediate vicinity of the workplace offers plenty of space for fun, games and creative learning. Media skills play a central role for Axel Springer. For this reason the pedagogic work focuses on promoting the children’s specific learning and language acquisition. Besides an above-average child care ratio, the institutions also offer flexible opening times, thereby making an active contribution to the work/family balance.

Axel Springer was awarded with a certificate to the audit "berufundfamilie" (jobandfamily) for its family friendly personnel policy in 2011. The certificate attests Axel Springer a commitment for a family friendly personnel policy, which is above national average. The award is both, incentive and basis for a continuous improvement process.
