Axel Springer AG’s 18-month Trainee Program is aimed at highly motivated and performance-oriented university graduates who have a particular interest in the media industry. Individual vocational training and systematic induction into different business areas provides goal-oriented and sound “learning by doing”, offering numerous ways of taking on responsibility in specialist departments and in management.

Over an 18-month period our Trainees receive individual vocational training, which takes them into advertising sales, distribution, advertising, information and public relations, financial controlling, personnel and technology among other areas. The compulsory areas they visit are financial controlling, editing, as well as the BILD aid organization “Ein Herz für Kinder” (A Heart for Children).
Special interests can also be taken into consideration within the scope of our Trainee Program.

You have completed your studies rapidly with above-average results. You are performance-oriented, highly motivated and have well-developed people and communicative skills. You have already proven your willingness to take on responsibility during your studies. You are creative, envisage changes as opportunities and aspire towards entrepreneurial behavior in the team. You bring with you a high degree of enthusiasm for the perspectives and challenges of the media industry and can prove this through relevant practical work experience. The thorough and goal-oriented “learning by doing” in our Trainee Program offers numerous paths to specialist and management positions, so that the probability of being taken on after completing the Program is very high.
An extensive range of continuing vocational training courses, guest studentships in other areas of the publishing house and editorial offices broaden one’s horizon, seminars and special events within the circle of Trainees help networks to develop.
Young talents are also systematically and individually supported through the in-house in-service training program, a mentoring program, young executive circles and the “Young Professionals” conference. Many opportunities for further professional development in specialist and management positions are offered in this way. The education initiative with its more than 600 events also offers a broad range of continuing vocational education opportunities – from language and computer courses to seminars on specialist and key skills right up to lectures on topical issues.
