What is expected of our company? Which issues are particularly interesting for readers and non-readers or even environmental organizations that deal with sustainability issues in our industry?
Sustainability experts refer to these "interest groups" with the English term "stakeholders". They are included in the discussion on the priorities of sustainability management. A continuous dialog with stakeholders as well as stakeholder surveys at the same time allows an assessment of the general social interest.
For the ranking of the various concerns, we use various sources of information – from market research among readers and customer surveys through the various reader advisory boards up to the regular exchange with WWF, Greenpeace and Transparency International in countries such as Finland, Sweden, Russia, Canada, the USA, China, Uruguay and Brazil.
We consolidate the findings into a materiality matrix which indicates the orientation and priorities of sustainability management. The topics are presented in the matrix according to their assessed relevance for the stakeholders on the one hand and for the company on the other.
In the right menu bar the objectives for the new reporting period 2010 to 2011 are documented as well as a review of the objectives achieved in the previous period from 2008 to 2009. External recognitions are presented in the menu item Awards. The chronology summarizes the sustainability-related measures and events of the past 30 years.
