Equality of opportunity: Repeatedly awarded

The company has developed a comprehensive program on equality of opportunity. It includes various measures such as, for example, the promotion of an improved work/ family balance.As the first media enterprise Axel Springer has moreover been a member of the “Women in the Economy” Forum since 1999.

Axel Springer has been singled out many times for its personnel policy oriented towards equality of opportunity: the company was awarded the “Total E-Quality” distinction in 1999 and 2001, and in 2005 the Special Prize in the “Success Factor Family 2005” by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.

Axel Springer has been a signatory to the „Charter of Diversity“ since 2008. This is an initiative established by the Federal Government of Germany on fairness towards and appreciation of employees.

In addition we also assist our employees in the search for other suitable child care facilities. Should there be problems here on occasion, Axel Springer AG additionally offers emergency kindergarten facilities in Hamburg und Berlin.

The so-called Eldercare program helps employees looking for suitable facilities for relatives in need of care and supports them through the web of bureaucracy.
