Axel Springer AG has participated in the nationwide “Girls′ Day – Future Prospects for Girls” campaign since 2003. The Federal Ministry of Education and Science and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth support this event. Its goal is to bring the next generation of women closer to technical and technically-oriented jobs as well. Equally, boys are also given the opportunity to look over their mothers' and fathers' shoulders at work and thereby gain career orientation at an early stage.
In this way the staff members’ children are given comprehensive information about the company and the diverse training opportunities available. Offers range from technical careers such as Printer, Industrial Mechanic and Media Designer for Digital and Print Media, through to various commercial training occupations. While visiting their parents at their workplaces, the girls and boys also have the opportunity to gain direct insights into everyday working life through personal discussions with their parents and their colleagues, and thereby to receive assistance with their vocational orientation.
