Axel Springer operates in almost every country in Europe: Its international activities in central and eastern Europe are concentrated on Russia as well as – with its joint venture Ringier Axel Springer Media – on Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary (Subject to approval by the Hungarian antitrust authorities). Its activities in western Europe are focused on Switzerland, Spain and France. Many of Axel Springer’s media services are also published abroad as licensed editions. In 2010 Axel Springer has furthermore expanded its actitivities in India.
