Together for Diversity

Through the Equal Opportunities Working Group, Axel Springer AG has developed a form of Diversity Management unique in Germany: Four representatives from both the employee’s and the employer’s parties together draw up strategies and measures which create equal opportunities for all employees in the company.

The Equal Opportunities Working Group was founded in 1997 and has met regularly since then. The foundation of its work is a 10 Point Program, which is implemented systematically and for the long-term. Thus for example it was at the instigation of the Equal Opportunities Working Group that an emergency kindergarten was set up; there are special services for employees during parental leave as well as many other topics.
