We look forward to your application! So that this can prove successful for both parties, we would like to offer you support right from the beginning of the application process. Generally speaking: You should send your application approximately 3 to 4 months in advance. For certain vacancies this time span can however vary.
A comprehensive application for us comprises a covering letter, a curriculum vitae or résumé and the copies of relevant certificates. Where applicable, for example when applying for a position as a graphic designer or editor, you should send us examples of your work. Please note that when you apply by email, you attach a maximum of three files with a total size of 5 MB. Ideally you should send the attachments in PDF format.
The covering letter is our first impression of you, therefore you should certainly take some time in advance to think about why you would like to work for Axel Springer AG and which field or fields interest you in particular. Arouse our curiosity! Give us a structured account of your motivation and your abilities. But this doesn’t mean that you should simply rephrase your résumé in prose, but rather that you pick up on important stages in your life and place them in context with your desired position. Do not forget essential key data such as your desired starting date and if applicable your preferred locations. If you are responding to a specific job advertisement please also mention this in your letter.
A good résumé should above all be well-structured and clear. It should describe your scholastic, academic and professional career while at the same time highlighting important facts. Naturally we are also interested in any additional qualifications you may have and what you do in your free time. Similarly, experience of living or working abroad should also be included in a comprehensive résumé – in short: It is important that we are able to form a comprehensive picture of your personality.
Please send us all relevant certificates, these include among others your school leaving certificate and degree certificates or credits, as well as employer's and vocational training references.
You should pay particular attention to ensure that all the certificates are legible – quality frequently suffers with scanned documents in particular.
If you would like to apply by post, please only send copies of your documents and not the originals.
Have you made a speculative application or applied for a position advertised in our job portal and would now like to know what has happened to your documents? After receiving your postal or online application you will initially be sent a confirmation email. For this reason we ask you, even if you apply on paper, where possible to include an email address. Subsequently our personnel department will inspect your documents for completeness and suitability. Following this initial preselection your application is forwarded if applicable to the responsible specialist division. This department then decides whether it wants to get to know you better and invite you for an interview. If you have any questions regarding the status of your application, please get in touch with your contact person.

If you are invited to an interview with us, then you have cleared the first hurdle. In order to be successful during the interview, you should take the following tips into consideration:
In which business areas is the firm active? How big is the company? How is it positioned nationally/internationally? Who are its most important competitors? These are only a few of the questions you should ask yourself while preparing for an interview. Important questions that you are unable to find answers to should be mentioned at the interview.
What were the fundamental stages in your career path? Why did you choose your vocational training course? What are your strengths and weaknesses? What else do you enjoy apart from learning and working? Tell us using concrete examples.
Be yourself – we are interested in you!
What further continuing vocational education and career opportunities are there for me? What will my typical working day look like? In addition you are of course welcome to ask questions on the strategy and about the products of Axel Springer AG.
Once you have mastered your interview, we will let you know as quickly as possible whether we are able to welcome you as a new member of staff.
