Axel Springer AG and the Swiss Ringier AG are pooling their foreign activities in central and eastern Europe since 2010. To this end they have founded the Ringier Axel Springer Media AG. The company, in which both partners hold a 50 percent share, has its head office in Zurich. Axel Springer has brought the business of its subsidiaries in Poland and the Czech Republic into the company and Ringier its business in Serbia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The integration of the Hungarian activities of Axel Springer and Ringier into the joint venture is still subject to approval by the antitrust authorities. With Ringier Axel Springer Media AG as a major media company in central and eastern Europe, the two parent companies are significantly strengthening their strong position with more than 100 print titles and over 70 online services in these growth markets.

Ringier Axel Springer Media is the leading publisher in the Czech Republic with three newspapers and eleven magazines. Alongside the leading tabloid BLESK, the company is also market leader among the car magazines and publishes BLESK PRO ZENY, the women’s magazine with the highest penetration.

Ringier Axel Springer Media publishes three newspapers and 14 magazines in Poland . With FAKT, the leading newspaper on the stands, PRZEGLAD SPORTOWY, the only daily sports newspaper in the country, as well as numerous online services, Ringier Axel Springer Media is the largest media company in Poland.

Its market leadership in Slovakia is based largely on the NOVY CAS brand portfolio, consisting of one newspaper and four magazines. The Ringier Axel Springer Media AG also operates azet.sk, the country’s leading online portal.

Ringier Axel Springer Media is the publishing house with the largest total circulation and penetration in Serbia , with its three newspapers and five magazines. The joint venture publishes BLIC, Serbia’s largest newspaper.
