Ernst Cramer, 1913-2010

Only ten days before his 97th birthday, Ernst Cramer, journalist and Chairman of the Board of the Axel Springer Foundation, died early this morning in a Berlin hospital from the effects of a heart attack.

Mathias Döpfner, Chief Executive Officer of Axel Springer AG, said: "The death of Ernst Cramer is a great loss for our company. Following Axel Springer himself, he was the most prominent figure in the publishing house. He was full of confidence and plans right up until the end. A fulfilled life has come to an end. The Management Board, Supervisory Board and employees of Axel Springer AG mourn the loss with his family."
