Kai Diekmann, Peter Würtenberger and Martin Sinner launch a digital research project for Axel Springer in Silicon Valley

Kai Diekmann, 47, BILD Editor-in-Chief and publisher of the BILD Group, Peter Würtenberger, 45, Chief Marketing Officer at Axel Springer responsible for its central marketing division Axel Springer Media Impact (ASMI), and Martin Sinner, 44, founder andmanaging director of idealo, the digital price comparison platform in which Axel Springer AG holds a majority interest, will be relocating their workplaces from Berlin to the west coast of the USA for a period of at least six months starting September 2012.

Their mission: Within the framework of a research project, they will form a team developing new entrepreneurial ideas for digital growth through exchange and networking with local companiesand universities in Silicon Valley. During their absence, in which they will retain their positions, their deputies or co-managing directors will take on the managerial responsibility on an interim basis. Dr. Andreas Wiele, as responsible management board member, will take on the leadership of ASMI with the support of Peter Würtenberger's deputy. Upon their return from Silicon Valley, the managers will take on their current tasks and responsibilities at Axel Springer once more.
