Know in Germany what is important in Brussels: POLITICO launches “Morgen Europa”

To press release overview

On March 7, POLITICO is launching “Morgen Europa”, the morning newsletter with a European focus for German-speaking decision-makers. Florian Eder, Managing Editor of POLITICO and previously EU correspondent for DIE WELT, will present issues which are relevant to Germany from the political decision-making agenda in Brussels to his readers at the start of the working day.

“Morgen Europa” is one of POLITICO's three free morning newsletters, along with the highly popular Brussels Playbook by Ryan Heath and the recently launched Morning Exchange, Francesco Guerrera's column from London on politics, finance and economics. In addition, POLITICO publishes morning newsletters covering energy, technology and health care policy as part of POLITICO Pro, its subscription policy news service. Three new paid policy newsletters – financial services, trade, and agriculture & food – will launch later this spring.

Florian Eder: “‘Morgen Europa’ offers its German readership of decision-makers from the fields of politics and industry the POLITICO perspective on what will become important for them in Brussels. We believe that the critical analysis in ‘Morgen Europa’ will soon become a part of the daily ritual in political circles in Berlin, but also in corporate headquarters in Hamburg, Munich and Frankfurt.”

Shéhérazade Semsar-de Boisséson, Managing Director of the European edition of POLITICO, adds: “With the launch of ‘Morgen Europa’, POLITICO is extending its English-language portfolio with a precisely tailored service for experts in Germany. We are gearing ourselves towards the initial target group of more than 5,000 high-level decision-makers in the leading economy in Europe. The launch of the German-language ‘Morgen Europa’ is the logical continuation of the expansion of our service in Europe.”

“Morgen Europa” not only gets to the heart of external policy of the EU, its economic and financial, defense and security policy, regulatory issues and the fields of technology, energy and trade which are relevant to Germany, but also provides evaluations and exclusive background. The morning newsletter benefits from the experience of a beta phase launched in November 2015, as part of which feedback was collected from more than 100 leading figures from politics, administration, industry and the media in order to develop the service.

“Morgen Europa” is created within the framework of the European edition of POLITICO. With over 45 journalists in Brussels, Berlin, London, Paris and Frankfurt, it is the first publication to establish connections between the Continent’s most influential players. The journalistic content of POLITICO can be found online at, via POLITICO Pro – the real-time news service for a policy specialist audience –, in daily newsletters such as Ryan Heath’s conversation-sparking “Brussels Playbook”, in the form of a weekly newspaper, and in events that make headlines. In January 2016, an annual study by ComRes and Burson-Marsteller identified the European edition of POLITICO as the most widely read publication among EU decision-makers.
