Brussels, Belgium – POLITICO’s European edition, which is a joint venture between POLITICO and Axel Springer, announces today a new editorial product called Global Policy Lab. Global Policy Lab is a collaborative journalism project seeking actionable solutions to challenges facing modern economies in an age of political disruption and technological transformation. Throughout the program, Global Policy Lab will engage diverse stakeholders for their view on how these actionable solutions can come to life.

In the first installment, titled Engineering Growth, POLITICO is partnering with GE to look at the rise of digital manufacturing in Germany, Europe’s largest economy, as well as ways to improve the economies of France and the United Kingdom.

Readers are encouraged to participate as the first installment evolves over the course of five weeks:

  1. Sign up to the weekly newsletter to read expert reporting, reply to questions, and respond to polls coming out of our ongoing policy discussion.
  2. POLITICO will share in-depth articles, analyses, survey results and infographics on the Global Policy Lab hub.
  3. The newsroom will select several industry-leading experts to participate in a working group to brainstorm solutions to each policy issue.
  4. The chapter concludes with a conference call exclusive to newsletter subscribers to discuss the findings and debate ideas developed in the previous weeks.

"This is an innovative, first-of-its kind experiment in collaborative journalism that we expect will produce new policy solutions and inform the public debate on these issues," says Matt Kaminski, Executive Editor of POLITICO in Europe. "Our readers are some of the most engaged and educated in the world, and we're eager to tap into their experience to develop solutions to these policy problems."

POLITICO + GE: Engineering Growth launches on September 7th. Learn more and sign up here.
