The new year for Corporate Communications at Axel Springer SE starts with the following personnel changes:
In addition to her existing tasks, Bianca-Maria Dardon, 35, Head of Brand Communications & Corporate Issues since October 2014, was appointed Deputy Head of Corporate Communications from 1 January 2017. Dardon joined Axel Springer in 2011, initially as press spokesperson for WELT Group and the regional newspapers. Previously, she had held positions at the Brunswick Group communications consultancy.
On 1 May 2017, Dr. Marc-Christian Theurer, 37, will join the management team at Corporate Communications. Theurer has worked for more than three years for Hering Schuppener in Berlin, most recently as a Director in the Corporate Affairs & Public Strategies Team with a focus on strategic corporate positioning. From 2008 to 2013, he worked for CNC Communications & Network Consulting in Berlin and Brussels, his final position being that of senior consultant.
His appointment, alongside Bianca-Maria Dardon, and Anne Müller, 36, Head of Change & Integration Communication since July 2015, means the management team headed by Edda Fels, 58, is once again fully staffed with three team leaders.
Dardon and Theurer will jointly lead the team of PR managers and press spokespersons, covering the broad spectrum of topics ranging from Corporate and Brand Communications, to Corporate Issues, and Financial and M&A Communications, as well as the communicative coordination of the national and international investment portfolio.
Anne Müller retains responsibility for international Employee and Change Communications in the Axel Springer family. Before joining Axel Springer in 2015, she worked for more than five years in a variety of communication positions for Bayer AG in Germany and France, as well as for the Brunswick Group communications consultancy.
Another new addition to the team of press spokespersons from 15 February 2017 will be Christian Senft, 52, as Senior PR Manager and Head of BILD Communications. Senft is a proven digital expert and has extensive experience in marketing and public relations. Among other things, he was Head of Marketing and PR at ProSiebenSat.1 subsidiary Seven Senses, where he was responsible for establishing the brand for the online video store Maxdome and the communication of pay TV offerings. Prior to this, as Head of Corporate Communications at Seven One Intermedia, he directed public relations for the broadcasting group's multimedia activities. In recent years, the focal point of his work has been on the online book market, among other things as Manager of PR, Author & Reader Relations at Amazon in Germany.
Since October 2016, Julia Sommerfeld, 30, has worked as a Senior PR Manager in Corporate Communications. She previously worked for the APCO Worldwide communications consultancy. Her priorities at Axel Springer are, among others, communications for WeltN24.
Edda Fels, Senior Vice President Corporate Communications: “Axel Springer is becoming increasingly international and increasingly digital. This means that Corporate Communications also has to deal with the new challenges posed digitization and globalization. With ongoing change processes, strategy and consulting expertise is more important than ever. The newly structured team ensures we are better able to meet these challenges.”
