BILD Group restructures its editorial board. As of 1st January 2016, Kai Diekmann, 51, editor-in-chief of BILD and publisher of BILD Group, will hand over his role as editor-in-chief of BILD. As publisher of the group, he will assume responsibility for the management of the four editors-in-chief who will report directly to him. He will focus on the overall brand management for all BILD offerings, the editorial orientation and the further development of the BILD brands. The editors-in-chief will be responsible for the operational, daily editorial management of the individual media offerings. The editorial board will be reorganized as follows:
Tanit Koch, 38, currently deputy editor-in-chief and head of BILD’s entertainment desk, will assume editorial responsibility as editor-in-chief of BILD’s print edition. Tanit Koch has held several positions at BILD, among others as bureau chief of BILD HAMBURG and copy chief of BILD. Previously, she was responsible editor within the editorial board of WELT Group. She started her career at Axel Springer with a journalistic training at the politics and business desk of BILD in 2005. After finishing Axel Springer Academy, she became chief of staff for the editor-in-chief of BILD. Tanit Koch holds degrees in law and political science.
In her new role, Tanit Koch will in the future be responsible for Europe’s largest daily paper. She will be part of BILD Group’s editorial board together with Julian Reichelt, 35, editor-in-chief of BILD Digital, Marion Horn, 49, editor-in-chief of BILD am SONNTAG, and Peter Huth, 46, editor-in-chief of B.Z. and BILD Berlin edition.
Mathias Döpfner, Chairman and CEO of Axel Springer SE: „The concept of BILD has exciting development perspectives both on a digital and international level. Kai Diekmann, being the longest-serving and very likely most successful editor-in-chief of BILD, will shape this potential in his new and overarching role. Over the course of many years, Tanit Koch has convincingly qualified herself for the task of both leading Europe’s largest daily paper journalistically as well as setting her own new accents.“
Kai Diekmann: „With Tanit Koch as editor-in-chief of BILD’s print edition and Julian Reichelt as editor-in-chief of BILD’s digital platforms we are excellently equipped to lead the BILD brand successfully through the digital revolution. BILD is the leading medium in Germany – both in print and digitally. The four-member editorial board with Marion Horn, Peter Huth, Tanit Koch and Julian Reichelt will ensure that BILD’s success story will continue.“
