Dr. Mathias Döpfner, CEO of Axel Springer SE: “BILD’s success as a multimedia brand is fundamentally based on the conviction, that print and digital boldly present their individual strengths while at the same time working seamlessly integrated – both in terms of journalistic direction as well as regarding workflows. To ensure this, Julian Reichelt will take over the overall management in closely aligned cooperation with Tanit Koch, Marion Horn and Miriam Krekel. Marion Horn will continue her highly successful path, creating a passionate Sunday paper that is more than and different from a seventh edition of BILD. Tanit Koch will continue to position BILD as a leading publication in an engaged manner. Peter Huth has positioned B.Z. as a magnet for creative people and example of modern capital-city boulevard journalism. I thank him for that and wish him the same success for his new tasks at WELT AM SONNTAG. I am convinced that Miriam Krekel, when she returns from parental leave, will retain and further develop B.Z.’s special character.”
