The online portal kaufDA, in which Axel Springer holds a majority stake, has gone international and launched the new BONIAL online platform in France. Effective immediately, www.bonial.fr will offer its French Internet users daily updates regarding local shopping deals: Users who visit the website can display ads, offers, and the opening hours for various retailers in their city, allowing them to browse and compare a wide variety of local ads online. The BONIAL service can also be accessed using mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet PCs. BONIAL offers retailers in France the opportunity to target specific regional consumers via the Internet and thereby increase store sales.
Christian Gaiser, CEO of kaufDA and of the new BONIAL Group: “By launching BONIAL in France, we have taken the first step in our strategy for internationalization and, for the first time, we have made available the innovative kaufDA concept outside of Germany. The new service provided by BONIAL has made the process of searching for local offers even more attractive for consumers in France: With one click, they can display special offers and business hours for retailers in their immediate area – at any time, even when they are traveling. With this new service, BONIAL has opened up completely new perspectives for retailers in France.”
With its headquarters in Paris, BONIAL is headed by Matthias Berahya-Lazarus as the Président-Directeur Général Bonial France. Michel Bon is chairman of BONIAL’s Advisory Board; Bon was the longtime CEO of Carrefour, the second-largest international retail group, and former president of France Telecom.
